Nigerian Airforce neutralized scores of ISWAP, destroyed bomb making factory in Lake Chad

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has killed scores of fighters of the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) and destroyed a factory used in making Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) in the Tumbums in the North East of Lake Chad.
The onslaught attack which was coordinated by Maj Gen Ibrahim Ali, the Theatre Commander, North East Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai, was carried out by fighter jets on Wednesday at Tumbun Bakkassi, one of the identified locations used for fabrication of all forms of bombs.
Intelligence sources, told Zagazola Makama, a Counter Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad region that Intelligence has unraveled that ISWAP has prepared and positioned highly volatile SVBIEDs with the apparent intention of deploying them at troops location in Arege in Abadam Local Government Area.
A military source said that the strikes were part of retaliatory air strikes on terrorists after their attempted attack on a Nigerian Army location in Mallam Fatori.
Similarly, it was gathered that a NAF aircraft under the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai carried out a series of air strikes on terrorists' locations in the Tumbun Shittu near Lake Chad which has been confirmed very successful as many other terrorists were neutralized.
Since June 6, 2023, the Nigerian Airforce had intensive it’s Air offensive Operations in the North East under the nicknamed: OPERATION WARUN 3, which led to the elimination more than one hundred Boko Haram terrorists, unit commanders and high value fighters in Mandara Mountain in Gwoza Local Government Area.
